Anagha
Anagha was born and raised in Portland, OR, where her passion for service and teaching blossomed early on. Throughout high school, she worked as a camp counselor, taught Indian classical Bharatanatyam dance, and volunteered with organizations like the Oregon Food Bank and the Portland Children’s Museum.
Currently a fourth-year student at UCLA, Anagha is majoring in Neuroscience with a minor in Disability Studies. Her studies have deepened her understanding of how societal factors shape perceptions of disability, a perspective she aims to integrate into healthcare reform.
At UCLA, Anagha is actively involved in several organizations, including the university’s premier Indian classical dance team, Taara, Nu Rho Psi (the National Honor Society in Neuroscience), and REACH (Reproductive Education and Community Health). She also conducts research in the Akin Lab, focusing on neurodevelopment. Anagha aspires to pursue a career in medicine, particularly serving underserved populations.
In the fall of 2024, Anagha joined Level Up as a Direct Support Professional. She is eager to apply her passion for service and education, along with her insights from her Disability Studies minor, to help individuals with neurodivergent diagnoses live more independently. In her free time, Anagha enjoys dancing, reading, and making jewelry.
