Jocelyn
Jocelyn was born in Malaysia and grew up in Shanghai, China. After high school, she moved to the United States to attend UCLA. Initially intimidated by the transition to a new country, she has since embraced her college experience and life in Westwood over the past two years.
Jocelyn enjoys spending quality time with her friends and family, as well as cooking, baking, and traveling. After completing her undergraduate degree, she plans to pursue a doctorate in occupational therapy. Her passion for holistic health fuels her desire to enhance the quality of life for others through compassionate, high-quality care. She has volunteered at various occupational therapy clinics, including those focused on mental health, pediatrics, and hand therapy. These experiences have solidified her commitment to the field and reinforced her mission to combine empathy and creativity to help patients redefine their visions of a meaningful life.
Currently, Jocelyn serves as the External Vice President of UCLA’s Society for Physical and Occupational Therapy (SPOT), a club dedicated to providing career guidance for pre-occupational therapy and pre-physical therapy students. Additionally, she is a board member of UCLA’s California Health Professional Student Alliance (CaHPSA), where she advocates for equity and accessibility in healthcare.
In 2024, Jocelyn joined the Level Up Team as a Direct Service Professional. She looks forward to teaching independent life skills to participants, helping them achieve their individual and unique goals.
